Dear Parents,

          It’s spring!  Hopefully that means many beautiful, warm days and lots of outside play.  I know we will enjoy this wonderful season and the new life it brings.  We hope you take the time to enjoy it too!

CURRICULUM:

Christian Education:  We will enjoy the following bible stories: Jesus Enters Jerusalem, The Empty Tomb, The Road to Emmaus, Jesus is Alive, Crossing the Jordan, Walls Fall Down, Deborah Obeys God, Esther is Brave       

Bible Verses:    “Sing praises to the Lord.”  Psalm 9:11
                              “God will help you.”  1 Chronicles 12:18   

Monthly Theme:   Sensational Spring, Wild West

Language Arts:   Color –  April Purple; May Black and White
                                 Shape – Recognizing all basic shapes
                                Letters – April T, U, V, W; May X, Y, Z

Language Concepts:  Recognize the letters of the alphabet and the sound they make 

Math Numbers:                       April – ll, 12, 13, 14, 15; May 16, 17, 18, 19, 20
                                     
Math Concepts:                      One-to-one correspondence and sets
                                     
Science Center:                       Signs of  Spring and Using our Senses     

Social Studies:                        Thinking about how others feel

Art Projects:                            Caterpillars, Butterflies, Flowers
                                               
Library/Computer:                 We will visit Mrs. Chester in the Library each month.

Large Motor Skills:                  Outside Play, Gymnasium, and Movement Activities

Small Motor Skills:                 Painting, Gluing, Coloring, Table Toys

Announcements:
We are in need of a couple of parents/grandparents to monitor the class during naptime on April 10th so the teachers can attend the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon.  Please let me know if you can help.
