CCC PRE-K A NEWSLETTER
APRIL AND MAY 2008
Dear Parents,
Happy spring! We will finish up Theme #8, A Habitat is a Place to Live. Theme #9, A Place to Dream is our last exciting unit to complete. We will explore art, music and our favorite stories. The last two weeks of May will include special alphabet projects and review of the Saxon curriculum.
CURRICULUM
Christian Education: April –God Helps Us To Be Friends With Others
May – God Will Help and Protect Me Wherever I Am
Bible Verse: April – “A friend loves at all times.” Proverbs 17:17
May – “God will help you.” 1 Chronicles 12:18
Language Arts: Color – April – Pink, May - Purple
Shape – April – Triangle, Rectangle, Oval, Cross
May – Star, Heart, Diamond, Circle, Square
Letters – April – A-Z, May – a-z
Language Concepts: Language and Early Literacy Development (listening comprehension, speech, vocabulary, early word recognition)
Math Number: 1-20 – Rote count 1-50, Write numerals 1-20
Math Concepts: Sequencing, Patterns, Shapes, Measurement, Classification, Money
Social Studies: Individual, Culture, and Community – We will learn our address, phone number and family members.
Science: We will explore simple experiments, use simple equipment, share observations and predict what will happen. We will discuss living or non-living and preserving their environment.
Art Project: We will learn how to use art as a form of self expression.
Spring Projects, Mother’s Day Gifts, Primary and Secondary Colors, and Flowers
Birthdays: Happy Birthday Alexis – 5/2, Kendall 5/15
Prayer: This day is new, it comes from God.
It is a gift from heaven’s hand.

Announcements:
We are in need of a couple of parents/grandparents to sit with the class during nap so
the teachers can attend the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. If you can help, please
let me know as soon as possible.
