APRIL AND MAY 2008
Dear Parents,
Happy spring to you! We hope you had a wonderful Easter. Now that the weather is
getting warmer the children are looking forward to spending more time outside. Our last
unit is exploration. We will be exploring the arts, music, literature, and animals of all
kinds. We will finish up with learning about the sea. We will continue to teach a cumulative review of the letters and numbers. It was a pleasure getting to know you and your
children.
CURRICULUM
Christian Education: April - Always keep God in your heart. Be the person God wants you to be. May – Jesus loves the little children.
Bible Verse: “I will be glad and rejoice in your love.” Psalm 31:7
“I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever.” Psalm 89:1
Language Arts: Letters – Review all letters and letter sounds
Language Concepts: We will start blending letters together to produce three letter words.
Math Numbers: We will review numbers 1-20 and practice writing them.
Math Concepts: Our class will learn how to use math in our everyday lives.
Social Studies: We will explore what animals live in various parts of the world. We will learn about rain forests, the desert, the sea, and the jungle.
Science: We will become scientists and perform fun experiments using our five senses.
Art Projects: Spring and Summer Crafts, Animal Crafts, Under the Sea Crafts

Shaping Your Child’s Behavior
- Reinforce and praise appropriate behavior,
- Redirect your child to more acceptable behavior.
- Stay calm and set clear limits and rules.
- Follow through with appropriate consequences.
- Be consistant
- Don’t use unkind words.

Announcements:
We are in need of two parent/grandparent volunteers to sit with the children on April 10th
so the teachers can attend the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon. If you can help please let
one of us know as soon as possible.
