CCC 2’S NEWSLETTER

Dear Parents,

          Spring is finally here and that means more time outside.  We hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Easter with family and friends. With the school year winding down, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for a rewarding year with your children.  Thank you for all the parental support we received.  It made your child’s learning experience the best!
                            
CURRICULUM

Christian Education:  April – Jesus loves me so much that He died on the cross and is alive today. May – God will help and protect me wherever I am.

Bible Verse: April – “Sing praises to the Lord.”  Psalm 9:11
                        May – “God will help you.”  1 Chronicles 12:18
                                                         
Language Arts:     Color: April – Purple, May – White and Black
                                   Shape:  April- Oval, May – Diamond
                                   Opposites:  April – Up/Down, May – Over/Under
                                                         
Language Concepts:  April – We will talk about the names of different insects and bugs, garden and pond animals.  May – We will learn about ocean animals, beach items, and sand toys.

Math Concepts: We will review shapes and count using the calendar and books. 
                                                                                               
Social Studies:  April – Garden and Pond Animals, Insects and Bugs, Garden Tools, and Flowers.   May – Ocean Animals, Beach, Sun & Water Safety

Science:    April – We will learn how plants and flowers grow. May – We will  talk about ocean animals that live in the ocean, habitats, and spring.  

Large Motor Skills: We will practice putting on our own jackets.

Small Motor Skills:  We will introduce using scissors to cut and practice pulling up our pants after using the bathroom.

Poem:   

Springtime Breezes Gently Blow
Springtime breezes gently blow, tiny flowers start to grow.
(stretch arms wide and sway side to side, then stretch arms up high)

Baby birds hatch from their eggs, a brand new calf stretches his legs. (tuck arms under and flap like wings, then stand on tip toe)

The trees sprout leaves and blossoms too!  And the sky is oh, so blue!
( jump up and down then hold arms above head and turn around)
                                                                     
Announcements:
We are in need of a couple of parents/grandparents to sit with the children during naptime on Thursday, April 10 at 1 PM so the teachers can attend the annual luncheon.
