Before and Aftercare Assistant Teacher
30 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- To provide supervision of childcare for school age children at Trinity Lutheran Christian School before and after
- school.
- To give active and loyal support to the Before and Aftercare program
- To carry out activities with the children each day
- To maintain a positive attitude at all times
- To act in a supportive and professional manner when working with children
- To report to the ELC Director regarding any problems or concerns
- To build positive relationships with children, parents and other staff and administrator
- To maintain accurate attendance records
- To adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook
- Basic health and safety
Requirements:
- 90 hour school aged certification
- ADA certification
- 9 hours communication
- Candidate must be at least 19 years of age
Qualifications:
- Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record Check
- Aptitude for working with Children
- Strong leadership skills
- Courses in education or Early Childhood Education (preferred)
- First aid and CPR (preferred)
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to be active with the children.
- Incorporate goals into the daily routine.
- Provide a warm and caring atmosphere for children.
- Maintain open communication among co-workers, parents and school staff.
- Prepare activities that are developmentally appropriate for the age of the children.
- Maintain a safe environment for children
- Must have previous experience working with elementary school aged children.
- Be a self-starter and perform the job with little supervision.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to follow written and oral directions.
- Must be honest, have a neat appearance and courteous mannerisms.
